Dear Olivia,

Take heart, this will pass in your life. How very lucky you are to have had so much support! I wish my daughter had this when she was continually bullied throughout her school years.

She had two best friends turn on her and they influenced others to do the same. It was horrible. My daughter is and always has been a caring and sweet person. Her life was turned upside down. She wanted to kill herself. We put her into private high school hoping her misery would end. But her low self-esteem didn’t help her to connect to the right people in her life or do what was in her own best interest.

The good news I want to tell you is that she went for therapy and began believing in herself. She is now, at 27, a very happy person leading a productive life. She went to college, has good friends, and is successful. No longer a target, she feels her own power and can stand up to anyone!

Try to feel pity for those who need to be so hateful. Loving and caring for one another is a precious gift we all deserve.

You deserve to be loved and you are! Just think about all the people out there who care about you.
